Kayak fishing is not something that you can become an expert at in a few days. It takes many years of apprenticeship and determination to make the transformation into a veteran kayak angler. Honestly as fun as it is it can literally take years. The best way to become an expert in half the time is to study with an experienced kayak angler. It would be highly recommended to go out on fishing trips.

It is happening gradually but kayak fishing is steadily gaining in popularity. Kayak fishing is an old boating activity that is around to stay been around. Believe it or not kayak fishing has been a major source of fish supply. Kayak fishing goes as far back as the 1800’s when it was practiced by Russian Orthodox priests. This time was called the Native History error..

After that time kayak fishing still continued to become popular. Most people find it hard to believe that kayaks are a good form of fishing.

Today many kayak anglers have chosen to use their kayaks along with the ancient art of fly fishing. You can buy inflatable kayaks that are for one or two people. The fact that the kayak is a sit down type of boat added to its appeal.

The one drawback to using a kayak for fishing is the learning curve. It is difficult to steady the boat while fishing in the beginning.  That’s why it is essential to learn with a pro and read as many kayaking tips as you can before taking to the water.

A. Always practice safety first don’t just jump in and start paddling. Your number one goal should be your safety.

I would advise you to check the weather before venturing out on a fishing excursion. Check the ides and weather before getting in the water.

B. It is important to make sure that you are not distracted because you are fishing always close all of your hatches before you go out. This one thing will help ypu to keep your kayak free from water seepage.  This is something that is mainly a precautionary measure.

C. While fishing it is always best to keep an anchor in the water to steady the kayak and prevent it from drifting out of control. This is very useful when using a one person kayak.

D. Always let someone know where you are going fishing or boating with your kayak. Doing this is for safety. I would also consider bringing along your cell phone even if you have to keep it in a plastic zip lock bag or boating bag. Also always try to let someone know that your are taking your kayak out and where you are going. In this way, somebody will be able to keep track of your activity.

It is advisable to always be safety conscious and always practice safety before anything else.
