Registration and Numbering- Boat Style
Boat registration and numbering is implemented by law. The boat stickers and boat decals that are attached on the sides of the boat are not just there for fun or for show off. Boat registration and numbering is vital for different reasons such as:

• It is a legal proof that your boat is recognized by your state and that you as the owner or operator of the boat solemnly abide by the rules and regulations in the boating law, whether you are sailing on your state or in another.
• It is a brand of acknowledgement. Sticking a boat decals on the two sides of your boat not only makes you a legal boater but also makes you a member of the named and unnamed group and camaraderie of all the other boaters.
• In case of emergency, a boat that is registered and properly numbered is easier to find than the boat that is not recorded by the state.
In general, the law in different states state that the boat decals should be:
• Placed at the two sides of the boat.
• Seen even from a far distant.
• In no less than three inches in height (legal size).
• Clear and precise. It doesn’t matter if your boat numbers are printed in a traditional way or in a more flamboyant and festive way. What’s important and legal is that the numbers on the registration are given to you and your boat by the law.
Boat registration and numbering may seem to be a silly thing or a waste of time to do especially for water transportation. But if you want to be a good citizen and a responsible boat owner, registering will be your first and vital step.
