Being a boat owner rocks! There’s really a certain sense of fulfillment and a smug satisfaction when you tell someone that you’re a proud owner of a boat. Maybe this is because a lot of people find boating as a pleasurable activity that only the rich and famous experience. Maybe this is because not everyone can operate a boat. Maybe this is because not a lot of people can claim that they have a boat. And for men, a boat used for leisure is a wonderful tool for high power wooing.


But how do you make a boat? What are the required equipments that you need to have in your boat? Can you buy these stuffs or are they already included in the boat when you decide to purchase one?
Here is a list of the required equipment for a boat that is endorsed by the United States Coast Guards.

Boat Registration and the Operator’s Certification- Just like in land, a car driver needs his vehicle papers and driver’s license, a boat operator needs to make sure that the boat decals are attached and his board certification is legit and up to date.
Required Equipment for a Boat #2
Personal Floatation Devices (PFD) - A boat should have at least one of the United States Coastal Guards’ approved type lifejackets (Type I, Type II or Type III) for each boat passengers. Additionally, the boat should have one or more floating Type IV floating device.

Sound Producing Device (bell or whistle) – You have to make sure that the bell or whistle that you have is working before cruising away.
Required Equipment for a Boat #4
Visual Distress Signals- The boat should have at least three types of visual distress signals or flares. The red flag flares are approved by the USGC.
